Dyddiau Du

We’re a community library and centre for art and literature in the heart of Cardiff. Situated in the Capitol Centre on Queen Street, along with Shift, Tactile Bosch, Umbrella, Curad Arts and The Creative Plug, we all provide regular schedules of art, music, poetry, performance, workshops and more.

Dyddiau Du hosts Cardiff Collage Club, publisher showcases with Welsh publishers, poetry open mics, creative writing workshops, and more, every month. We also work with organisations such as TransAidCymru, who run their socials at our space, every 3rd Monday of the month.

We are ran by LGBTQIA+/queer people and/or Neurodivergent people, and we aim to make Dyddiau Du a safe, inclusive space in Cardiff. Want to help us out? Donate books (and/or money), spread the word about us, subscribe to our newsletter.

Check the bottom for our opening times. When we’re open to the public you are very welcome to sit with a coffee and a book, or work on your laptop (we have WI-FI!), or simply browse books and have a chat with us. We will happily chat to you about books if you’re after a recommendation!
